I found a mix of black, white and grey scraps that I thought looked interesting. Amongst this collection was a sparkling black leather that I really wanted to use.
An event came up that saw me wearing a black & rose gold dress. I decided to make a matching pair of earrings with this leather and in turn, turn this design into a new design for you.
I have used two different colours of genuine leather to create the dramatic effect, the sparkling black on the bottom and metallic mock croc rose gold on top. Finished with sterling silver fisherman hook ear wires.
The leather feathers have been created by hand using a leather cutting die (not a machine). The video gives an example of how I make this style of earring.
All leather used are from left overs from the fashion industry, that would usually go to landfill. I aim to use every little bit to create these beautiful and unique earrings and reduce waste in the process. You may find the odd blemish in the leather due to this.
The drop measures approximately 7 centimetres, these are slightly shorter in length than some of my other styles.
